Student Visa Guidance in Surat

Student Visa

Student visa guidance at Global Careers

Global Careers in Surat helps students prepare their student visa applications: the documents, the financial paperwork, the forms and the interview. Since 2000 we have assisted with more than 2,800 student visas. We guide visa applications for the USA, the UK and Canada, and, for students enrolled with us, for Singapore, Dubai, Europe and Australia.

No consultant can guarantee a visa. The decision is made by the embassy or consulate. What we do is make sure the application is complete, consistent and truthful, and that the student is ready for the interview.

Visa guidance is the last step of study abroad consulting. If you are still choosing a country or university, start there.

Student Visa

Which countries we cover

  • USA, UK and Canada: full visa guidance.
  • Singapore, Dubai, Australia, New Zealand and Europe: visa guidance for students who are doing their admissions with us. See study abroad consulting.

We guide student visas only. We do not offer immigration, work-visa or permanent residency services.

How we prepare a visa application

Most refusals come from applications that are incomplete or inconsistent, or from a student who cannot explain their own plan. The preparation is built around those three risks.

USA: the F-1 student visa

  • The university issues a Form I-20 once the student is admitted and has shown funds for the first year.
  • The student pays the SEVIS I-901 fee, completes the DS-160 form and pays the visa application fee of US$185.
  • An interview at the US embassy or consulate is generally required.
  • A visa can be issued up to 365 days before the course begins, but a new student cannot enter the USA more than 30 days before the start date.

UK: the Student visa

  • The university issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).
  • The application can be made up to 6 months before the course starts. The fee from outside the UK is £558, and the immigration health surcharge is paid with it.
  • The student must show the first year’s unpaid tuition plus living costs of £1,529 a month for courses in London, or £1,171 a month elsewhere, for up to 9 months. The money must have been held for at least 28 days in a row.
  • A decision usually comes within 3 weeks.

Canada: the study permit

  • The student needs a letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution.
  • Most applicants also need a provincial or territorial attestation letter. Students starting a Master’s or doctoral degree at a public institution have been exempt since 1 January 2026.
  • A single applicant studying outside Quebec must show C$23,448 for living costs, in addition to first-year tuition and travel, for applications made on or after 1 September 2026.

A word of caution

Visa rules and fees change often, sometimes with a few weeks’ notice. The figures on this page were correct when we checked them. Confirm them on the official website before you apply, and treat anyone who promises a visa with suspicion: the decision is made by the embassy or consulate alone.

Documents and financial paperwork

We check the forms, the academic documents and the financial evidence against the official checklist, so that everything is complete and consistent.

Interview preparation

One-to-one mock interviews. The student learns to explain, in their own words, why this course, why this university and how it will be paid for.

Before departure

A briefing on accommodation, insurance, foreign exchange, what to carry and what to expect in the first weeks.

Frequently asked questions

The common reasons are financial evidence that does not meet the requirement, documents that contradict each other, and a student who cannot explain why they chose the course and what they will do afterwards. All three can be prepared for.

It depends on the country and the university. For the UK it is the unpaid first-year tuition plus £1,529 a month in London or £1,171 a month elsewhere, for up to 9 months. For Canada it is first-year tuition and travel plus C$23,448 for a single applicant outside Quebec. For the USA it is the first-year cost stated on the Form I-20. These figures were checked in October 2026.

Within limits that each country sets. In Canada an eligible student may work up to 24 hours a week off campus during term and full time in scheduled breaks. In the UK and the USA the limits depend on the level of the course and the kind of work. We go through the current rule for the student’s own case. Part-time work should never be part of the plan for paying the fees.

For the UK, a decision usually comes within 3 weeks of applying from outside the country. For the USA and Canada it depends on interview dates and processing times, which change through the year. Apply as soon as the university’s documents arrive.
