Online Career Counselling for Students in India and Abroad
Career counselling online, with the same process as in our Surat office
Global Careers offers career counselling online for students who cannot come to our office in Surat. The process is the same: the Career Fit assessment, a live session in which Dr. Manish Mittal and his team verify the results with the student, and a counselling session with the family. Only the room changes. The meetings take place on a video call.
We have one office, in Surat. From here we work online with students in other cities in India and with Indian families living abroad, including in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Who online counselling is for
- Students in towns and cities where the family has not found a counsellor it trusts.
- Indian families abroad who are deciding between college in India and college overseas.
- Students at boarding schools, whose parents live in another city.
- Families in which the parents are in different places and want to join the same session.
How it works online
- 1. A first call. We speak to the student and parents about marks, subjects, interests and the decision that has to be made.
- 2. The Career Fit assessment. The student takes our assessment of interests, aptitude and work style online. Read more about the Career Fit assessment.
- 3. Results verified live. Dr. Manish Mittal and his team go through the results with the student on a video call, exactly as we do in the office.
- 4. A counselling session with the family. Dr. Manish Mittal and his team explain the recommendation and answer questions. Parents are welcome to join.
- 5. A written report and plan. The family receives the report and the next steps in writing.
What you need
- A laptop or desktop computer with a camera and a steady internet connection.
- A quiet room where the student can take the assessment alone, without help.
- Recent mark sheets, so that we can read the results alongside the student’s school record.
What else we do online
Students who continue after counselling can work with us online on profile building, Study in India admissions and study abroad consulting.
The counselling itself follows the same steps as our career counselling after 10th and career counselling after 12th.
Who guides the student
Global Careers was founded in Surat in 2000 by Dr. Manish Mittal. He holds a PhD in Psychology (Career Counselling), an M.A. in Education and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, is a certified practitioner of the MBTI®, the Strong Interest Inventory® and Multiple Intelligences, and holds the College Counselling Certificate of New York University.
Dr. Manish Mittal and his team verify every student’s results in person, and he writes every report himself.
